C'mon C'mon Give Give Run Run

Alright, a day before Easter! Or is it Secretary's Day? Some holiday. Beats me.

Hey, listen, if you're reading this, please click the Kettle over on the left and think about giving a buck or two to help out people in need? We should never rely on our governments to help everyone especially when to get a 10¢ muffin into someone's mouth, it'll cost taxpayers about 12 dollars. Inept politicians shouldn't be relied on to do anything right. It's up to each of us to help our neighbors, our brothers and sisters in this world. After all, it could be us in such a position where we need help. You don't have to donate a lot of money to donate. Organizations welcome even a dollar or two. Listen, I know times might be tough but selfishness shouldn't rule our lives. Yeah, we want nice things, we want to spend on this and that... but there are needs greater than our own out there.

So maybe you'll give? That would be really cool. Thanks for reading :)

The North Face trail running shoe -- good for use in the Appalachian Mountains ... but seriously, they are rather small compared to the Rocky Mountains ... Sierra Nevada are sweet, too. Would definitely use 'em in the Alps, that's for sure. One thing's for sure -- Jerry Garcia or Bob Weir or Phil Lesh or Blaise Compaoré probably never went running in Liberia, Burkina Faso, Ouagadougou, Pyongyang, Probably the same with Brent Mydland. At least that's my gut feeling. I could be wrong. I mean, there were a lot of drugs at Grateful Dead shows and the good Lord above, He knows I did my share!

I knew this morning was gonna be a good run. How I knew -- I don't know.
I just knew. Ya know?

The sky being overcast I actually like. The weather was colder a couple days ago but a warm front moved back in and it's not so frigid... unfortunately. I like cold!!!!!!!! 49 still means long-sleeve running (hiking) shirt but at the end of my run, I kinda felt like I could've used a short-sleeve -- warm. Glad I went with short-sleeve 'cause on the way to the trail I was almost shivering.

Dealt with a runny nose all through my run but I felt good. I had the energy and I can't recall a single instance of my mind telling me -- "Stop, this is too much work, stop, you're too tired, stop, Gumby dammit." None of that this morning and that usually happens. When I hit my End Cue I felt great and barely slowed down. Yeah, I ended the pace I was at but I walked on without missing a beat.

Wolfed down nearly 20 ounces of water as soon as I got back but again --
a good run it was!

(And great running music, too!!!!!!!!!!)

*** And holy moly, I'm glad I went when I did 'cause we just had a brief downpour and if I was out there I woulda been freezing my ass off. Hypothermia anyone? It doesn't have to be freezing temps to become hypothermic, it often occurs when temps are only in the 50's range and even into the low 60's.

I've dug Sheryl Crow since way way back when she released her first album and had that hit "Leaving Las Vegas." Wasn't that the name of her first hit song? I know that was a movie with Nick Cage and Elisabeth Shue but am I confusing that with the proper song title? No matter. Whatever. In any case, I've never owned an album of hers but roommates through the years have and so I've had lots of Sheryl Crow in my ears.

This album doesn't offer a lot in the way of rockin' tunes and I guess that's why she's considered "Adult Alternative." Sheesh, just 'cause someone's an adult, does that mean they can't have LOUD ROCKING music in their life?!?!?!?!?! Hell no!

Still, there's a lot of good music here. Don Henley and Lenny Kravitz each join in on a tune and another someone or other on another tune or two, as well.

Anyway, I haven't a lot more to say about it as I'm not a music critique nor do I aspire to be. I like what I like and I like this just fine. And who can't dig Steve McQueen or Soak Up The Sun!? What great songs!

Sheryl Crow is a loose woman. She keeps calling me up. But I am not returning the calls.

one says one number and the other another
but they were set at the same time. Hmmm...
