Running in the Presence of the Lord

Only plus six seconds this time running but six welcome seconds, six seconds closer to being able to run a marathon. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA... yeah, like that'll ever happen!!! (Maybe... just seems like I'm a hundred years away from being able to do that.)

Trail time: about 72 minutes...

Running Time
--
16 minutes & 33 seconds

2 tracks from...

benefit album for the

Rosie Perez
-- Josie's First Allowance Day
Uncle Kracker & Marlo Thomas -- I Want It!

their one & only album from 1969...

Had To Cry Today
Can't Find My Way Home
Well All Right
Sea Of Joy
Presence Of The Lord
Do What You Like
&
Eric Clapton -- Can't Find My Way Home
(from 461 Ocean Blvd, Deluxe Edition)
+
Jerry Garcia & Davis Grisman -- Louis Collins, Fair Ellender

Nice. And that's an understatement! Blind Faith's album is mucho classico! A few songs there made for a very good run. The epic Do What You Like + Jerry & David helped hike me home. I'd say that I'd love to check out Blind Faith's other albums but all I can do is pick up the Deluxe Remastered Reissue from a few years ago. Like 75 minutes of music on that that ain't on the original LP. Lookin' forward to it.

been far too long

Twas over 4 whole freakin' days since I last got on the trail. FOUR DAYS!?! But finally this afternoon that streak came to an end. Probably coulda gotten out yesterday evening, my calf felt okay then, but I wanted to give it one more nights rest just in case. But I got out this late afternoon!

Short hike -- only 1 hour 20 minutes

3 selections from...
Marlo Thomas & Friends: Thanks & Giving All Year Long

Benefit album for the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital . . .

The Mouse, The Bird and The Sausage -- David Hyde Pierce
The Thing About Generosity -- Marlo Thomas
Josie's First Allowance Day -- Rosie Perez

and . . .

The Neville Brothers ~ 2-12-86
(opened for the Grateful Dead)
Henry J. Kaiser Convention Center
Oakland, California
Fire On The Bayou, Africa, Run Joe, People Say,
Caravan, Sitting In Limbo, Fear Hate Envy Jealousy,
Go To The Mardi Gras-> New Suit,
Big Chief-> Smoke My Peace Pipe,
Hey Pocky Way

Josie's First Allowance Day by Rosie Perez a completely unexpected treasure, twas especially good and probably all on its own worth the price of the album. Then again, all proceeds went to the hospital so that in itself is a billion percent worth it!

Then onto my feature presentation. Pretty darn good opening show from the Neville Brothers! Had I been there way back when I woulda danced my butt off even before the Dead came on stage! Definitely worth the download!!

the Neville Brothers 2/12/86 is @ Archive.org

Almonds? Cashews? Peanuts!

I think I've forgotten what it feels like to wear my hiking boots! I've been so caught up in running that it feels like weeks since I've gone for a "hike." Of course, being on the trail for 93 minutes means I do a significant amount of hiking . . . but it's in my running shoes vs. lacing up my hiking boots for strictly a hike. Anyway, nice afternoon today. I didn't progress by my usual 20+ seconds 'cause I didn't have ready the playlist that I originally wanted to take. Still I went again a little bit longer, a little bit further. I'm in no rush.

time on the trail: about 93 minutes

running time -- 9 minutes, 47 seconds (+16 seconds this time)

listened to:

* from the album:
Marlo Thomas & Friends: Thanks & Giving All Year Long
(a benefit for the St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital)

* Teeny Meany -- James Earl Jones & Marlo Thomas
* The Little Stuff -- Marlo Thomas
* (I'll Give) Anything But Up! -- Hilary Duff
* Unsung Heroes -- Wayne Brady

Body And Soul -- Billie Holiday
Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas -- Frank Sinatra

Wynton Marsalis & Ellis Marsalis -- Joe Cool's Blues

Linus & Lucy
Buggy Ride
Peppermint Patty
On Peanuts Playground
Oh, Good Grief!
Wright Brothers Rag
Charlie Brown
Little Red-Haired Girl
Pebble Beach
Snoopy & Woodstock
Little Birdie
Why, Charlie Brown
Joe Cool's Blues (Snoopy's Return)
and finally
Russian Lullaby -- Jerry Garcia & David Grisman

With this outing I have reached my maximum limit (1) for Hilary Duff songs this decade. (It's actually not a bad song.) My run to Billie & Frank was nice and mellow followed by my first time ever hiking to jazz. Can't go wrong with Wynton Marsalis. Really good music. And once again Jerry to finish up.

I've got so many playlists for hiking ready, plus Dead shows. Maybe tomorrow . . . if I can break free from this temporary addiction for pushing my run times up.

one says one number and the other another
but they were set at the same time. Hmmm...

i love you amy uzarski. always!
