Vraiment Froid Mutterings!!

Wow, what a cold front!

About 10° above 0 Fahrenheit (-12 C) two mornings ago

For well over a week we had been anywhere from 15 to 20 degrees above normal, practically every single hour of every single day for that stretch. Alaska is melting and I wouldn't be surprised if it's melting faster now than it was 10 years ago. Then again, maybe this same time next year there won't be such extreme warmth here... extreme warmth for this time of the year is what we just had -- temps in the teens.

Cold front came through a little more than 24 hours ago.

Yesterday morning when I went to work -- about 0° F (-18 C.)

Some of the Lower 48 was seein' temps just like ours... we were no big deal.

But this morning is another story! The worst part of this deep freeze is really covering the Tanana Valley now...

-20° F (-29 C) (that's not windchill!) in my backyard right now. When it's 12 out or even 0, that's actually not bad compared to this. Hoo, baby, I'm so glad I'm stayin' inside watchin' football today!

And maybe I'll spend a little time on...

Unconscious Mutterings

a free association game -- I say ... and you think ... ?

1. Interview :: job

2. Army :: Navy

3. Unwrap :: gifts (on Christmas morning)

4. Evolve :: human beings... I'm not sure why that popped into my mind seeing as how humans were created by God... yet I still do believe we are evolving ever so slightly in that our DNA through the generations takes on special characteristics directly related to the line of descendents before us and/or things about us evolve like personality and customs, yada yada yada stuff like that... then again perhaps I have no clue what the heck I'm talking about!

5. Bus :: Jerome Bettis, (American) football commentator on NBC and longtime Pittsburgh Steelers great.

6. The real thing :: song by Warren Haynes recorded for the one and only studio album by Phil Lesh & Friends ... listen ---> The Real Thing

7. Streak :: winning (Miami Dolphins are wishing for a streak of 1!!)

8. Gorge :: Amphitheatre in the town of George, Washington

9. Spicy :: Cayenne is one of my best friends in the kitchen! Habañero ain't bad either!

10. Course :: driver's

Hmm, that ended quite lamely. Is lamely not a word? Says who? What world government agency decides what is a word and what's not? Huh? Who appointed Merriam-Webster the be all end all of words?!?

Yes, we've got a few words that matches. Amphitheater, wow! :) So that is pronounced as Gorge (normal) or George because it is in George, Washington?

If I compiled all the words I made up (e.g. gramminated -- I mean, what was I thinking?!), I'd end up with my own LAMELY dictionary, too.

Peace!
