The Diceman Shineth

Casual Sex? (1988)

Oh yay, a movie that promotes casual sex. Wait... doesn't practically every movie with romance promote casual sex? Of course. I guess on the positive side, this came out when AIDS awareness was in the midst of exploding into the consciousness of the American public so it does also promote caution.

Lea Thompson is super-cute in the starring role. Her sidekick is Saturday Light Live alum Victoria Jackson. The surprise of the movie is Andrew Dice Clay who can actually act, play the sensitive type and be a charming male species.

I saw this flick years and years ago. Since it's from the oh so glorious late 80's, I thought it would be fun watch, might make for some entertaining flashback kinda viewing. It doesn't scream late-80's, though. The year could almost be any time since then (at least up until the cell phone era.) Still not a horrible experience but the content of the movie leaves a lot to be desired. It's great for Dice and Lea and (even though it's pink) a 1959 Cadillac convertible... but otherwise there's no reason for anyone to watch this

I had forgotten all about this film. It was definitely rough around the edges. I think I like Lea Thompson better in 'Howard the Duck'.

one says one number and the other another
but they were set at the same time. Hmmm...

i love you amy uzarski. always!
