Kinda Bluesy Run
This is my space where I often bitch and complain but I'm going the opposite route right now. Normally I don't give a flying crap about celebrity news but this made me smile -- actress Nicole Kidman and her husband, country music star Keith Urban, donated $500,000 to the 2009 Victorian bushfire Fund to assist individuals and communities affected by devastating bushfires in Australia recently. There might not be a lot of Hope as advertised here in America... but Down Under, there is Hope amid the ashes.
Here's a video about Sam the Koala who survived the devastating fires...

Days Since My Last Run: 3
.
3:20 pm - 57° - sun finally coming out
Okay, I wasn't excited to run today but I also wasn't dreading it. It's been three days and that reminds me -- I wanted to add a feature to my running section...
there, done.
Anyway, I finally got over the 25 minute hump. I nearly always run strictly according to the Play List that I set up on my mp3 player and I was able to create today a Time that pushed me up nearly a third of a minute and finally once again above 25 minutes. Definitely I am pleased with that.
Somewhat chilly weather helped me along, helped to keep me positive the whole time. Body felt just fine, even my nagging mysterious Achilles heel strain. It comes and goes but it's not hindering me; just something to always be aware of. I'm tired now. I've set up a schedule for 10 runs in February and so it was important to get this done!! I'm looking forward to eclipsing my January time and HOPEFULLY getting to 4 total hours for the month.

(Somebody Else Been) Shakin' Your Tree Brown Sugar Squank Goin' Down To Mexico Old Man Neighbor, Neighbor Certified Blues Bedroom Thang Just Got Back From Baby's Backdoor Love Affair |
Oh, hell yeah. Texas blues rock, baby. I'll betchya a million bucks Pigpen & Jerry used to dig this record back in the day. This makes me wanna go cruising the hiways and biways of Texas in a big 1970's Cadillac convertible, top down, kickin' back, sunglasses on, aimlessly going from wherever to wherever, blowing through insane amounts of fossil fuel and pissing off Al Gore by polluting his precious atmosphere, all the while having old ZZ Top blaring through the speakers.
All the songs here are standard length album songs but they pack a lot of music into each of them. From hard-driving to almost mellow, there's a good range here... but the blues rock guitar sound is always prevalent.
I haven't read any reviews of this album and I don't know if it's considered great or not but I dig it a lot and am really lookin' forward to more early 70's ZZ Top!
